Safe withdrawals: check the address
Never copy a withdrawal destination from your history: scammers send tiny transfers from addresses that look like yours so you copy the wrong one.
How the scam works
Someone creates an address that starts and ends like one you have already dealt with and sends your Vault a zero or tiny transfer. It shows up in your history. Copying the destination from there can pick up the fake address β and a network transfer cannot be undone. This is called address poisoning.
How to withdraw safely
- Always copy the address from the source, at that moment: the deposit screen of the exchange or wallet that will receive it.
- Never copy the destination from your history, your statement, a message or an e-mail.
- Check the WHOLE address, character by character β not just the start and the end. The withdrawal review shows the full address.
- If the app warns that the destination looks like an address in your history, stop and check it again at the source.
- For a new destination, make a small test withdrawal first.
A sent withdrawal does not come back
A network transfer is final. Neither the platform nor support can cancel or return a withdrawal sent to the wrong address.
